A guardian is appointed by the court for a minor child if:

• Both parents can not or do not care about your child's affairs adequately,

• Both parents die or the single custodial parent dies,

• The parents of the child can not be ascertained.

A certain person, a club or the local youth office may be appointed as guardian.
