DRK Kreisverband Helmstedt e.V. / German Red Cross

For 30 years the DRK Kreisverband Helmstedt e.V. has guided and advised refugees during the asylum procedure and helped them with other concerns. On the one hand, we run a communal accommodation in the town of Helmstedt. On the other hand, we look after refugees who live in apartments. Our work is based on an agreement with the administration of Helmstedt. Besides, we take over the responsibility to ambulatory advise and guide refugees, who are assigned to the borough of Grasleben. In 2016 we opened our meeting place called "von Mensch zu Mensch" in the town of Helmstedt, which gives people the opportunity to meet others, by, for instance, taking German classes or by visiting a sewing club.
